The Committee may address the situation of human rights in Western Sahara during the evaluation of periodic reports of Morocco in relation to the territory under its jurisdiction.
Morocco has ratified the Convention in May 2013 and was obliged to submit its initial report within two years, i.e. in 2015. Yet, Morocco submitted its first and initial report only on 12 November 2021: doc. CED_C_MAR_1. No specific references to situations concerning occupied Western Sahara were made.
The Committee has not evaluted the first report yet.
