The Committee can take into account the situation of human rights in Western Sahara during the evaluation of periodic reports of Morocco in relation to the territory under its jurisdiction.
Under the CEDAW, Morocco is obliged to submit regularly a report to the Committee. The report on the respect of the Convention’s provisions by Morocco was examined in 1997, 2003, 2008 and 2022. However, as the texts below may show, no specific references have been dedicated to the situation of human rights of women living in Western Sahara.
