The Convention sets up a Committee with monitoring tasks. It held the first session in 2004.
The Committee receives and considers the periodic reports submitted by States party showing the measures taken to respect and apply the Convention’s provisions. The Committee’s exam ends with the adoption of the general comments which the Committee deems appropriate.
