The Committee can take into account the situation of human rights in Western Sahara during the evaluation of periodic reports of Morocco in relation to the territory under its jurisdiction.
Morocco ratified the Convention on 21 June 1993. It is obliged to submit regularly a report on the measures taken to implement the Convention. At the moment, the Committee has examined the first report submitted by Morocco (see CMW_C_MAR.1) and issued its conclusions (see CMW_C_MAR_CO_1). However, no references can be found in relation to the human rights situation in Western Sahara.
A second report was submitted by Morocco on 28 November 2022 (see CMW_C_MAR_2), but still no specific references to the situation in occupied Western Sahara can be found.
