Periodic Review

The situation of human rights in Western Sahara has been taken into account during the periodic evaluation of Morocco’s reports. It ratified the Convention in 1993 and accepted the competence of the Committee to receive and consider complaints from individuals in 2006. In the same year, Morocco recognized the competence of the Committee provided for in Art. 20 (inquiry procedure) but it did not ratify or sign the Optional Protocol.
